Telecom New Zealand Limited's Gen-i Joins Arbor's Cloud Signaling Coalition

A division of Telecom New Zealand Limited, Gen-i, has joined Arbor's Cloud Signaling Coalition (CSC (News - Alert)). The Cloud Signaling Coalition is an innovative partnership between service providers, datacenter operators and enterprises with the mission to ensure the availability of their network infrastructure and speed time-to-mitigation for distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. Arbor Networks is a provider of network security and management solutions for enterprise and service provider networks. Gen-i is a provider of a broad range of hosted and integrated ICT solutions to business and government organizations, including business continuity, cloud computing, contact center, collaboration, data center and mobility services.

In a press release, Leanne Buer, Gen-i head of networked ICT products, said, "Gen-i is committed to offering our clients ICT solutions that deliver real business outcomes. Our clients expect these services to be available, reliable and secure 24/7. We are pleased to participate in Arbor's Cloud Signaling Coalition. Arbor is an important part of our Safecom service and we see the CSC as an important tool that will help us further reduce time-to-mitigation for dynamic threats facing our client networks."

Gen-i is of opinion that enterprises must protect the network perimeter in order take control of IT risk management. Gen-i's Safecom service is a set of security-focused solutions, offering effective, robust protection for the network perimeter 24 hours a day.

The vast majority of the world's ISPs and many of the largest enterprise networks are among DDoS Mitigation Arbor Networks' 450 customers. Infonetics Research’s recent report titled, “DDoS Prevention Appliance Market Outlook,” cited Arbor Networks as “the dominant leader for DDoS prevention” overall as well as in the carrier, enterprise and mobile market segments. A recent report by Infonetics Research (News - Alert) sustained DDoS activity will drive the prevention market to 24 percent growth in 2012 over 2011. Arbor Networks has an overall lead with nearly 3/5 of global revenue.

Arbor Networks was recently in news when the company partnered with Ingram Micro (News - Alert) in India to help enterprises mitigate DDOS threats to their businesses.
