JCPenney Selects Oracle to Support Business Transformation

Streamlined operations, quality performance and outstanding customer experience are the hallmarks of a successful company and JCPenney wants to travel down that road by transforming its retail operations and becoming a favorite with America's inveterate shoppers.

"In order to become America's Favorite Store, JCPenney must simplify our processes and our technology infrastructure to deliver the best possible customer experience,” said Ron Johnson, CEO at JCPenney, and added, “Working with Oracle (News - Alert), we will achieve our goal.”

To this end, jcpenney plans to implement the Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics, a next-generation business intelligence application that will help modernize and optimize retail operations, helping JCPenney transform its business.

Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager at Oracle Retail noted that the company with its deep retail functionality was well positioned to handle immense volumes of transactional data generated and also deliver real-time, mobile access to accurate information throughout the organization.

The Oracle Retail implementation builds on JCPenney's existing deployment of Oracle solutions that help retailers improve the cross-channel customer experience.

Equipped and armed with Oracle Retail's solutions, JCPenney will be better positioned to make strategic decisions, drive performance and deliver outstanding customer service.

Oracle provides retailers with a complete, open and integrated suite of business applications, server and storage solutions that are engineered to work together to optimize every aspect of their business. JCPenney will make use of this to modernize merchandising, planning and supply chain and store systems.

Mark Hurd (News - Alert), president at Oracle Retail observed that by continuing to simplify and modernize its technology with Oracle, JCPenney could support the transformation of its business and focus on innovation that drives better results.

Many top retailers from a wide spectrum of industry depend on Oracle solutions to deliver critical insights and JCPenney hopes to achieve the same.

Media attention focused on Big Data has helped the market to expand significantly and has put business analytics on the agenda for many senior executives.
