Firewall and security software company, SonicWALL (News
- Alert), Inc., which was recently acquired by Dell, announced recently that it has completed ICSA Labs’ next-generation firewall evaluation.
ICSA Labs - an independent division of Verizon (News
- Alert) and an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited and ISO 9001:2008 registered organization – provides third party testing and certification of security and health IT products, as well as network-connected devices.
The testing and certification by ICSA Labs is conducted and provided to measure product compliance, reliability and performance for security vendors around the globe.
As a provider of firewall and security software solution, SonicWALL has in its portfolio the E-Class Network Security Appliance (NSA) Series, which utilizes patented Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection (RFDPI) technology, in combination with multi-core specialized security microprocessors, to deliver gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention and Application Intelligence at high speed without sacrificing network performance.
According to a press release, the E-Class NSA Series is already certified under ICSA Labs' Network Firewall –Enterprise testing program. This certification verified the products’ fundamental network firewall functionality. And, the additional completed next-generation firewall evaluation has upgraded the existing certification to an advanced level of technology verification in the market.
ICSA Labs evaluated some of the essential features of SonicWALL E-Class NSA Series and reported that: the application identification and control was achieved with100 percent coverage; user-based authentication was completely met; complete malware protection was achieved; user-side protection was achieved by 98.3 percent; the server-side protection was achieved by 94.6 percent; and more.
