Rackwise Aids Global IT Infrastructure and Services Provider with DciM Solutions

Rackwise Inc., a company specializing in data center infrastructure management software and service solutions, recently won a new contract from a Fortune 50 information technology services sector company to deploy Rackwise DciM solutions.

Reports indicate the IT firm plans to use the Rackwise DciM solution in its global data centers to support its internal operations, as well as its global outsourcing and infrastructure services business.

The customer is said to have picked Rackwise’s suite of DCiM products and services for its comprehensive decision support tools, its open architecture incorporating standard data connectors to industry-leading configuration management database, and changes to management systems.

It also includes versatile features such as asset tracking and utilization, energy management and optimization, virtualization, reporting, modeling and advanced analytics and metrics. The customer plans to implement Rackwise DciM solutions in all of its own data centers, and will make the offering available to its outsourced data center clients worldwide.

The DciM product and service offerings promises to help clients to effectively manage today's high density computing configurations and virtualized data centers, while mitigating the risks associated with cascading faults within the infrastructure.

"Following our selection in late 2011 by a Fortune 50 leader in worldwide IT and computing innovation, this announcement marks a second major win with a significant global IT company in a highly competitive environment,” said Guy A. Archbold, Rackwise’s president and CEO.

Archbold said the Rackwise solution was tested and compared to a significant number of its most notable competitors for an extended period of time in the customer's laboratory and test center. The award further validates its leadership position among providers of data center infrastructure management solutions and demonstrates success in establishing Rackwise offerings as solutions of choice among data center managers, information officers and other information technology professionals.
