CJ PowerCast Selects Aspera Platform for Digital Asset Management Systems

A multifaceted Korean media and entertainment organization, CJ PowerCast has reportedly deployed Aspera's (News - Alert) high-performance fasp transport and management technologies to automate and administer their digital asset systems.

Encouraged by the testimonials of many of its media partners, who have used Aspoera technology with great results, CJ PowerCast took a proof of concept tests, which convinced the company of Asper platform’s superiority.

“Bulletproof security, perfect bandwidth utilization, and open APIs that let us quickly adapt fasp and the Aspera Connect Server into our existing infrastructure and live systems to run our business more efficiently,” senior research manager, Jaemin Hwang commented in a statement.

According to Aspera, its next-generation transport technologies help data move at maximum speed regardless of file size, transfer distance and network conditions. Based on its patented fasp protocol, Aspera software fully utilizes existing infrastructures to deliver the fastest, most predictable file-transfer experience. More than 1,600 organizations across a variety of industries rely on Aspera software for the business-critical transport of their digital assets.

CJ PowerCast delivers high-quality digital broadcasting services specializing in areas such as movies, sports, music, animation, lifestyle, and documentaries. The company operates a diverse range of cable, satellite and IPTV (News - Alert) channels as well as regional TV stations. The company also delivers an extensive range of post-production, digital advertising and content management services. As such, the company has a vast file transfer and digital asset automation needs. The web-based Aspera Connect Server and Aspera Console management platform will help the company to address these needs.

The Aspera solutions have been integrated into CJ PowerCast's systems and portals using Aspera's robust set of APIs. The integration will facilitate mission critical media asset exchange with partners in Asia, Europe and North America, Aspera explained in a press release.

“CJ PowerCast has the kind of complex business use cases that we're seeing from more and more of our global customer base. They need the ability to transfer, manage, report and automate from within their existing systems, and they need to do it quickly. Our diverse platform support and powerful--but very easy to use--APIs allow us to meet and exceed customer expectations, and continue growing the business at such a fast rate,” vice president at Aspera, John Wastcoat noted in a statement.

Earlier this week, Aspera Inc and IP broadcast management software provider, Dimetis GmbH (News - Alert) announced a technology alliance and partnership, as well as the immediate availability of the Aspera integrated BOSS FILE TRANSFER Manager.
