Encore Networks to Incorporate BANDIT Routers in New Product Suite

Customized Energy Solutions intends to use Encore Networks' (News - Alert) BANDIT routers for its industrial strength data acquisition services suite.

The rugged outdoor versions of the BANDIT routers can work anywhere you need high-quality, reliable data transmission. Whether you need an M2M-focused router that can get along in oil, gas and wastewater facilities, mass transit stations, or point-of-sale situations such as ATMs, the BANDIT is up to the challenge.

The industrially hardened version of the boxes is rated to operate at temperatures between -40° C to 85° C. They are also guaranteed to function at altitudes of up to 10,000 ft. and in humidity levels up to 95 percent, according to the Website.

BANDIT stands for Broadband Access Network Devices for Intelligent Termination. The units include an integrated router with firewall support, support for VPN and conversions between Serial and IP.

BANDIT routers are perfect for disaster recovery as well as application load sharing in situations involving several host sites. BANDITS also come bundled with SCADA-RT and Securenet-RT packages. Encore Networks managed to cram all of this into a low profile, 1.5” by 6” box.
