ZyXEL Facilitates Flexible IPv6 Migration for Businesses

ZyXEL Communications (News - Alert) is providing IPv6 support for its complete line of business security gateways (USG series) and its managed gigabit Ethernet switches (GS2200 series).

ZyXEL, which provides secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, notes that this IPv6-certified software upgrade is available to all its current customers for free. This strategic move is in preparation for the upcoming World IPv6 Launch Day on June 6, 2012 that is driving all the established websites and businesses to migrate to IPv6.

Being proactive pays and ZyXEL has thus upgraded its security and switches to IPv6 enabling its business customers and channel partners to be ready for the transition.  The company is offering to small to mid-size businesses its ZyXEL USG series- a comprehensive line of eight firewall / VPN and UTM devices with just all right features for the users.

Because the ZyXEL USG series comprises the ZLD3.0 firmware upgrade it makes all existing and new USG series devices IPv6-compliant.

ZyXEL is also offering the new ZyNOS 4.0 free software upgrade that improves the effectiveness of the GS2200 series. The upgrade includes IPv6 support and a non-blocking 56 Gbps switching fabric for wire-speed performance.

“Our relationship with channel partners and business customers doesn't end with the sale, that's just the beginning,” said Steven Joe (News - Alert), executive vice president of Channel Business for the Americas at ZyXEL. “We evaluate our customers’ needs on an ongoing basis, which is why we're offering our latest IPv6-certified software upgrade for free. IPv6 is the way of the new Internet and we are committed to making it available to all our business customers and partners.”

ZyXEL Communications was in the news earlier this year for entering into a partnership with snom technology AG (News - Alert) to offer comprehensive end-to-end VoIP solution for small and medium-size businesses (SMB).
