Axstores Selects ExtraHop for Application Performance Management Solution

Axstores, a retailer in the Nordic region of Europe, has selected ExtraHop’s network-based application performance management (APM (News - Alert)) solutions to help manage its business.

ExtraHop expanded to the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region a few months ago, and Axstores is one of four new customers in the region that the company has revealed.

With more than 390 beauty, fashion, home furnishing, and department stores in the Nordic region, Axstores says it needs fast, reliable performance across the business. In particular, the company needed to find a way to monitor the migration of a major business application. With that in mind, the retailer implemented the ExtraHop system to carry out a number of functions.

The system discovered and isolated the cause of an issue in the application servers that slowed performance for retail stores. It remedied performance issues in the database in relation to indexing and application queries.

Axstores also used the ExtraHop system to detect TCP timeouts caused by DNS issues and server misconfigurations as a result of using IPv6 instead of IPv4. Meanwhile, the HTTP front-end communications were optimized for interaction with the back-end business systems.

“By providing a top-down view of application performance, the ExtraHop system enables us to measure performance across all tiers of our application environment and ensure that our customers and employees can quickly complete transactions and access information,” said Stefan Pörn, operations manager of Axstores.

ExtraHop first revealed plans to expand rapidly in the EMEA region back in February. The company received a significant amount of attention last year after signing a deal with SevOne, a provider of network-based performance management solutions, to bring high-quality performance monitoring solutions to the market.
