AppDirect Signs Deal with Deutsche Telekom to Power New Business Marketplace

Cloud computing is hot topic. A cloud service enables businesses to keep files and applications over internet while saving input cost in setting up and maintaining traditional business applications.

AppDirect, the cloud services marketplace and management platform, is offering the solution for Deutsche Telekom's (News - Alert) new Business Marketplace. Deutsche Telekom has developed Business Marketplace to deliver highly relevant, secure cloud applications and services to SMB customers.

According to a press release, the Business Marketplace will offer SMBs the opportunity to connect with application developers, as well as provide Deutsche Telekom customers an integrated, easy-to-use platform to find, buy and manage cloud-based applications and services.

"With the Business Marketplace, we offer small and medium-sized businesses low cost software products that are easy to find, try and buy. Deutsche Telekom also ensures that customer data and privacy is protected by hosting all software in house and offering end-to-end support for all products, from initial purchase with 'single-sign-on' right through to single billing," said Phil Zamani, Senior Vice President, Cloud Services, at Deutsche Telekom AG (News - Alert).

AppDirect enables Deutsche Telekom to provide a branded and customized marketplace to its customers. The Business Marketplace is installed within a secure infrastructure housed in Deutsche Telekom's European data centers, setting it apart from other CSMs. With these applications, SMBs can perform various operations -- from accounting, to human resources, to communications, and more -- easily and effectively.

"From the start of this project, we've been thoroughly impressed with the professionalism of the AppDirect team and the high caliber of its technology," said Phil Zamani. "This was a large project, delivered in a very short space of time and we are very happy with the end product."

Under this deal AppDirect has expanded the list of its telecommunications partners -- including Bell Canada (News - Alert) and SaskTel -- and extends the reach of its network to additional SMB users around the world.

These applications can help SMBs manage operations -- from accounting, to human resources, to communications, and more -- with far greater ease and effectiveness.
