Nuix Announces Trends and Commentary for Big Data Management In 2012

Nuix (News - Alert), a global provider of information management technologies which includes eDiscovery, information governance software, announced the release of “eDiscovery: Where are we going in 2012?” which features the company’s predictions and trends commentary for 2012.

The company’s CEO, Eddie Sheehy (News - Alert), has explained how organizations across the globe can start dealing with vast amounts of new information which is generated on a daily basis.

Sheehy concluded that the staggering amount of electronic information which is being currently generated will soon reach a point of overload. When this happens, organizations across the globe will be required to adopt more proactive models for management of data. He finished by saying that organizations which had already deployed the eDiscovery tools, would be much better off at dealing with this situation.

Predictions for big data trends in 2012 indicated that organizations across the globe will try to bring down the huge amounts of monetary resources that go into storing of electronic information by taking steps to minimize data. Information governance will help in optimizing the process of identification and categorization of data which provides little or no business advantages so organizations can easily get rid of such data.

There will be a convergence of Information governance and eDiscovery tools which will help in enhancing the management of data as eDiscovery solutions support both easy and faster categorization and tracking of data. Experts who are skilled in management of eDiscovery tools and technologies and who know how to create information governance and Big Data management policies will be in great demand. Additionally, organizations will make the shift to simplified data management; there will also be a growing expectation for software which notifies risk managers about key risk incidents and enables them to search for the same.

In a release, Sheehy said, “The fact is that the ‘keep everything’ approach will no longer work in 2012. Organizations must adopt a ‘less is more’ strategy to avoid the cost and risk associated with information overload.”
