ADARA Networks Selected Into the Systems Made Simple Team of T4 Initiative

ADARA Networks, a provider of network software, announced its selection into the team assembled by Systems Made Simple, Inc. (SMS).

Systems Made Simple, Inc. (SMS) is one of 14 prime technology contractors on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology (T4) contract. These 14 teams were awarded the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, which has a five-year period of performance and an estimated total ceiling value of $12 billion. VA announced the contract awards on July 1, 2011.

In a press release, VA explained that the T4 program has been designed to rapidly identify and close gaps in IT requirements and provide greater insight into VA's total IT infrastructure. The program is expected to help VA meet its Veteran small-business goals. The combined contracts will enable the most efficient use of technology for VA, and save money over time as a result of a more streamlined and competitive process.

ADARA Networks will be the part of the SMS' core team of small business subcontractors. As a core team member, ADARA Networks can compete for task orders under the contract's $12 billion ceiling over the next five years.

ADARA Networks is expected to help VA to virualize the entire network optimize existing infrastructure and applications by prioritizing network traffic, enabling on-demand scalability and creating interoperability across disparate networks for maximum overall performance. By implementing ADARA across a network, organizations gain an entire network view to better understand the structure and real-time usage levels of each and every element, the company claimed in a press release.

“We are very proud to have received this honor, knowing full well the time and resources poured into the evaluation process by Systems Made Simple, the team at ADARA and our extended team of sub-contractors. We look forward to working to accelerate VA's critical IT systems and creating the necessary efficiencies for Veteran services,” Lillian Withrow, CFO and Head of Government Contracts of ADARA Networks, noted in a statement.

A couple of years back ADARA Networks signed a contract with Shenick (News - Alert) Network Systems, a supplier of per-flow IP communications tests and monitoring systems, as well as a provider of advanced networking, to use Shenick's diversifEye technology to emulate, test and measure ADARA's NPX solution for per-flow aware routing.
