In a release, Steven Kerscher, VP and GM at Lexicomp said, “Our webOS app for TouchPad provides clinicians a larger, tablet sized view for easily viewing our drug information resources and especially specific content areas like charts and special topics. The HP TouchPad also offers unique user interface features, such as multi-tasking and card stacking - which are not available on other platforms.”

In 1999, Lexicomp On-Hand was developed for Palm OS.  Lexicomp was able to bring their drug information to personal digital assistants (PDAs) with Lexicomp On-Hand for Palm OS. According to Kerscher, it was evident that Lexicomp had to make content available on handheld devices after the launch of handheld devices in the 90’s. With Palm being the top handheld device, the company had developed Lexicomp On-Hand for Palm OS.

Kerscher said, “Today we’re bringing our comprehensive information to new, innovative devices like the TouchPad running webOS.”
