AT&T Introduces New Global Packages for International Travelers

A new lineup of Data Global Add-On packages has been announced by AT&T (News - Alert). While travelling internationally, wireless customers will be now able to enjoy data services at affordable rates. The upgraded packages will be launched on July 17. As compared to the current packages, more than double data allowance will be provided by the upgraded packages. Additional savings will be also offered by these packages.

As compared to the current 20MB package available for $24.99/month, the new package will offer 50MP for $24.99/month. Similarly, the current 50MB package available for $59.99/month will be upgraded to offer 125MB for $49.99/month. The current 100MB package for $119.99/month and 200MB package for $199.99/month have been upgraded to 275MB package for $99.99/month and 800MB package for $199.99/month respectively.

Customers going abroad will be now able to use data in a flexible manner through these packages. They need not search for a Wi-Fi hotspot to access the internet. International travelers can now use their smartphone, tablet or laptop to stay in touch through these convenient and affordable new packages from AT&T.

In a release, Bill Hague who is the executive vice president of International AT&T mobility and consumer markets said, "Mobile data is a huge part of our customers' wireless experience—whether they are in the United States or traveling around the globe. We've long offered more phones that can be used internationally than our competitors, and now we're delivering industry-leading value with redesigned international data packages."

A robust selection of world phones and international discount data, messaging and voice packages are available to the wireless customers of AT&T. They also enjoy the broadest global coverage of any U.S. wireless provider. AT&T provides voice service in over 220 countries. The same wireless number used by customers at home can be therefore used to make and receive calls, when travelling around the globe. Data roaming services like email and web browsing are also offered by AT&T in more than 200 countries. In over 140 countries including Japan and South Korea, 3G services are provided by AT&T. In addition, 140 major cruise ships have full coverage provided by AT&T.
