Google's New Analytical Tools Added to SEO Arsenal

Google (News - Alert) recently launched Google+. Google also released tools to measure results as the company wants to show everyone how it is doing so far. Just a few days ago, Analytics and Webmaster tools have been launched to track the +1 button. No expenses have been spared by the giant search engine provider in tracking its results. SEO analysts can also rejoice as these handy tools will be also accessible to webmasters.

In a release, James Schramko, CEO of SEO Partner said, "Every marketer out there should be tracking results. These new 'social analytics' tools provided by Google will grant us access to very specific data and invaluable information for split tests. Seeing how the crowd reacts to is vital for any marketer and Google has greatly simplified tracking actions that people take on our sites."

Solid data on the +1 button was presented by Google in a recent report, in a bid to promote the use of the +1. Whenever someone hits the button, an increase in web traffic was shown. Social Plug-in Tracking has been introduced by Google to track such data. The average time users spend on the site is shown by Social Plug-in Tracking. The number of page views and bounce rates are also shown.

Audience (News - Alert) and Activity reports have been added by Google in addition to the social tracking tools. Demographic and geographic data of the users that have +1'd content on a site is provided by Audience reports. The number of time the +1 button has been clicked is tracked by the Activity report.

According to Schramko, the trial launch of Google+ was successful. The firm grip held by Facebook (News - Alert) in the bid for Social Media Supremacy is in for some competition with the launch of Google+. Apart from measuring Google+’s performance, the new Analytics from Google also have other practical uses.

Schramko said, "Link baiting for example, is a powerful SEO practice, which can bring in lots of organic traffic through social media which then gets shared using the social media buttons, though of course you'll need some really interesting content to pull that off successfully."
