Zuckerberg Adopts Puppy, Gives it a Fan Page, Throws Web World into Frenzy

Find your news feed cluttered with the worthless ramblings of your cronies? Well—you can now add to that list the stream of consciousness of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s (News - Alert) adopted puppy “Beast,” adding quips to the likes of:

“I just took a dump and made Mark Zuckerberg pick it up. It was glorious.”

Zuckerberg and girlfriend Priscilla Chan adopted the Puli (Hungarian Sheepdog) and gave the fuzzy little one a fan page that has already gathered 30,000 fans and the number continues to grow by the minute. The  page garners instantaneous reactions by the hundreds with every move, and features photos of the trio in the puppy’s new home in Palo Alto (News - Alert).

The purpose of the fan page? Maybe the couple just wanted to be cute. The puppy’s interests include “cuddling, loving, and eating.” The pictures show the Puli and his parents as a typical nuclear family.

Other opinions vary.

Some dissect every move Zuckerberg had to make in order to create the page, while others compare him to Bruce Wayne as a mysterious, reclusive billionaire allowing a rare glimpse into his personal life. Even Forbes covered the puppy, blogging that the page equates to a PR move to soften Zuckerberg’s image.

Regardless as to what the motivation is—the scrupulous examination of the CEO’s decision to utilize Facebook (News - Alert) just as the 42.3 percent of the entire U.S. population who also use the social networking site further shows that all eyes are on Zuckerberg—America loves him, The Social Network, and now we love his dog.
