Emergent's Director of Open Source Consulting Certified as Red Hat Architect

Emergent, a provider of small business and IT solutions, announced that its director of Open Source (News - Alert) Consulting, Quint Van Deman, has been certified by open source solutions provider Red Hat, Inc., as a Red Hat (News - Alert) Certified Architect (RHCA).

According to Red Hat, its RHCA is the capstone of the Red Hat certification program. It incorporates a certified mastery of Red Hat enterprise Linux systems and the ability to architect solutions tackling some of the biggest IT challenges.

Paul Smith, general manager and vice president, Public Sector Operations at Red Hat, said in a statement, "Red Hat is answering the call at government agencies at all levels providing opportunities to carve out cost, improve security, transparency and collaboration.”

Emergent is a Value Added Reseller (VAR) and GSA (News - Alert) Schedule Holder (GS-35F-0119W). It offers comprehensive IT solutions such as product acquisition, consulting and training services. It also provides complimentary technology solutions such as, Adobe, Red Hat, Symantec (News - Alert) and VeriSign, among others within the government, commercial, education and healthcare sectors.

Last year, Emergent launched its open source consulting practice, Emergent Consulting Services (ECS), which has the mission to help solve strategic technology and business challenges from architecture to deployment, harnessing the innovative power of the open source community. And, Quint Van Deman is the director of this open source consulting practice.

The ECS implements solutions that provide a unique approach to solve information technology objectives by utilizing complimentary technologies with other systems, applications, networks, and environments.

According to Emergent, its open source consultants average more than 10 years of experience designing and enhancing open source solutions. The team can deliver the right level of people, process and technology to ensure maximum return on value for any open source project.
