Ipanema Technologies is a Visionary in Gartner's Magic Quadrant

To optimize the response times of critical applications and reduce costs in a wide-area data networks,  Ipanema Technologies, a provider of WAN Governance, a strategic and business-driven approach to network management within IT Governance,  and WAN Optimization solutions, has been positioned by Gartner (News - Alert), Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the Gartner 2010 Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimization Controllers.

Jean-Yves Leclerc, Chairman and CEO of Ipanema (News - Alert) Technologies said that ”in 2010, Ipanema achieved tremendous success with our customers and partners. This is a direct result of our commitment to innovation and customer focus. Placement in the Visionary quadrant is an important milestone in recognizing the vision of the next generation of network infrastructure and services that are tightly coupled to enterprises’ IT and business needs, and Ipanema’s unique way to address them through WAN Governance and autonomic networking.”

He added that “today’s ever-changing technology landscape, from the rapidly increasing adoption of cloud computing to the growing complexity within IT operations, is driving the need for more intelligent solutions to dynamically align global networks with IT transformations and business priorities.  WAN Governance will become even more critical for executives to achieve their business goals.”

According to the report, “WAN optimization is about improving the performance of business applications over WAN connections. Most networks carry a variety of traffic types of differing characteristics and importance. Many organizations are striving to manage this traffic to optimize the response times of critical applications and reduce costs, given that bandwidth continues to represent a significant proportion of operating expenditure for wide-area data networks”.

Ipanema’s position in the Magic Quadrant concludes a trailblazing year where Ipanema brought unique components of its innovative WAN Governance offering to the market. Hybrid Network Unification, launched early in 2010, is the cornerstone of enterprises such as Valeo that are progressively mixing public cloud based applications with their private IT infrastructure.
