Sigma Designs, a leading supplier of system on chip solutions for entertainment and control for the home, revealed that Comtrend’s (News - Alert) NexusLink VDSL2 is using HomePNA chipset. Comtrend is able to provide its customers with a single solution for three services with double the bandwidth performance of other VDSL2devices at 1/20gth of the cost.

The VDSL2 is starting customer trials in the coming quarter. The customers can start switching to the new technology in the next few quarters. The HomePNA (News - Alert) solution provides excellent bandwidth to the next generation solutions. HomePNA also offers remote management solutions for TR-069 support. With the combination of Comtrend and other network service providers there will be sharing of remote access services for management of products and set top boxes.
