NET Delivers UX, VX Series Products Based on Microsoft Lync

Network Equipment Technologies (News - Alert), which delivers high-performance networking equipment optimized for real-time communications, has integrated its UX and VX series products with Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync Server 2010 to continue to provide gateway support for Microsoft’s UC solutions.

The two products – UX2000 Survivable Branch Appliance and VX Series Enhanced – have been created to provide a high-quality experience for UC clients, to extend upon the services already provided by NET’s (News - Alert) Tenor series.

Qualified as a Survivable Branch Appliance, UX2000 – based on Intel’s 2.53Ghz Core i7 processor -- is an optional, high-performance, server-class application solutions module (ASM (News - Alert)) that hosts Microsoft’s SBA software. The modular 1U system has been built purposely for unified communications, enterprise border control and multi-service business gateway applications, according to a press release.

Both the VX Series and Tenor solutions lines provide enhanced functionalities, broad support and scalability for Microsoft Lync Server 2010. In addition, they are eligible for direct SIP connectivity in Microsoft’s Open Interoperability Program.

"NET's suite of gateways and Survivable Branch Appliances provide customers robust scalability and branch survivability options for their Lync 2010 deployments," said Ashima Singhal, group product manager of Microsoft Lync. "Microsoft is pleased to be working with NET in helping customers transform their communications for increased collaboration and productivity."

More and more unified communications solutions providers are jumping at integrating with Microsoft Lync 2010, including ProtonMedia, Radvision (News - Alert) and Formicary, to further enhance business productivity, videoconferencing, the workforce environment, and VoIP. TMCnet’s CEO Rich Tehrani recently got an up-close view into what was to be offered through Microsoft Lync 2010 – and he sure was impressed.
