The renowned IT consultant and managed services provider for federal market, Emtec (News - Alert) Federal recently announced the winning of an important FBI contract that is $30 Billion in value and spans the entire FBI information technology lifecycle.

FBI IT Triple S is a multiple award, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract that includes a one-year base period plus seven additional one-year options with a ceiling of $30 billion. The FBI IT Triple S contract is open to all U.S. Department of Justice components and is the largest single contract in the history of the FBI.

In a press release, Emtec Federal said that it has been selected as one of the prime vendors on the Federal Bureau of Investigation Information Technology Supplies and Support Services (FBI IT Triple S) contract.

Under the terms of the IDIQ contract, Emtec Federal will be providing for strategic and tactical IT support services in the disciplines of hardware and software infrastructure, operations and maintenance, technical and development and other ancillary IT services such as studies & research and business process improvement. In the release, the company said that it is going to execute these capabilities in support of the FBI's global IT mission requirements and initiatives.

According to the Emtec chief, Dinesh Desai, the contract reflects the company’s IT caliber.

“This contract award for Emtec Federal reflects the caliber of IT talent assembled within our organization and across our FBI IT Triple S team. Emtec Federal is dedicated to supporting the FBI's numerous law enforcement and security mission objectives,” Chairman, CEO, and President of Emtec, Dinesh Desai said in a statement.

In order to be able to provide advanced management and support to the FBI's IT operations, Emtec Federal is establishing an FBI IT Triple S Program Management Office in Bridgeport, West Virginia.

“Emtec Federal recognizes the importance of a local operational support facility that is capable of providing IT support operations to the FBI IT Triple S contract management team and one of the FBI's largest divisions, the Criminal Justice Information Services Division,” Emtec’s vice president, Jeff Posey, noted in a statement.

Few months back Emtec was awarded a contract from the city of Jacksonville, Florida. The contract was initially funded at $3.2 million for the first two years, and will be funded up to a total of $8 million if the options for the three additional one-year renewal periods are fully exercised. Under the contract, the company was to deliver Desktop Support Services in 200 locations throughout Jacksonville, and support more than 6,500 users of desktop and laptop PCs.
