By Bob EmmersonEuropean IT-security software developer Wallix has opened a subsidiary in the United States. The company, which already has offices in France and England, will promote Wallix AdminBastion (WAB) and Wallix LogBox in the U.S. market from its headquarters in New York City.
Jean-Noël de Galzain, CEO of Wallix, said, "North America is the leading market in the world for Identity & Access Management software. WAB-style products have become indispensible in business because of the financial regulations on listed companies and financial institutions, and the importance of risk management. It is the role of CISOs [chief information security officers] and risk managers to know how to trace every computer transaction on the network.”
In May 2010, the distributor became aware of commercial and technological opportunities in the U.S. market for access-management and computer-traceability solutions. Wallix presented an advance preview of the 2.1 version of its flagship product and traceability tool, Wallix AdminBastion, at Techforum 2010.
The company established 150 contacts during the seminar and has set up a WABDrive platform, which is a private portal giving access to the main functionalities of the system. This product is designed to demonstrate the simplicity and efficiency of the product to potential American clients.
“We have created WAB in such a way that it responds to the specific needs of the American market. The American clients are interested in being able to continually audit the quality of their IT providers’ performance, and to know how to technically qualify, and to economically quantify, the impact of an incident,” said de Galzain.
