CURE Media Group Expands Strategic Alliance Partnership Program with the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance

CURE Media Group, the nation's leading digital and print media enterprise dedicated to patients and survivors of cancer, has expanded its Strategic Alliance Partnership (SAP (News - Alert)) Program by uniting with Head and Neck Cancer Alliance (HNCA).

"We are delighted to welcome HNCA to our SAP family," said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of Michael J. Hennessy Associates, Inc. "Together with HNCA, we look forward to providing additional information on head and neck cancers and continue to empower patients and survivors."

Head and Neck Cancer Alliance was formed in 2006 by a group of clinicians, survivors and caregivers to bring together all stakeholders to focus on joint efforts to save lives via public awareness, patient programs and research. Today, it is a nonprofit organization that is devoted to public awareness, research, advocacy and survivorship for head and neck cancers. With the ultimate goal to advance prevention, detection, treatment and rehabilitation of oral, head and neck cancers, HNCA utilizes a multi-prong approach to become a one-stop shop for the public, patients, caregivers, survivors and clinicians.

In 2018, it is estimated that more than 110,000 people in the United States will be diagnosed with head and neck cancers. April is Head and Neck Cancer Awareness month. HNCA will be partnering with more than 400 health facilities worldwide to host free screening and awareness events as part of their effort to educate the public and identify individuals that may need additional clinical follow-up. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) states that Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) associated head and neck cacer diagnosis rates will be higher than cervical cancer by 2020, therefore, it is imperative that we educate the public on the need to vaccine boys and girls.

"We are excited to become part of the CURE® community" said Holly Boykin, Chief Executive Officer of the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance. "Together, we will strive to save lives by providing vital health information that continues to embolden patients, caregivers survivors and clinicians."

As part of this joint effort, HNCA will be able to share valuable content through CURE® magazine, where audience will have access to unprecedented content including latest research, interviews and articles that can help oncologists better serve their patients. The SAP Program is designed to facilitate an open exchange of information among trusted peers, the goal of which is to improve patient care.
