All Flash Array Storage Market Revenue Increased 33 Percent Y/Y in 3Q17, According to Dell'Oro GroupREDWOOD CITY, Calif., Dec. 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- According to a recently published report from Dell’Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the telecommunications, networks, and data center IT industries, All Flash Array market revenue grew 33 percent year-over-year in 3Q17, reaching $1.6 B. Dell EMC held the highest market share in the quarter while Huawei gained the most market share. “Every storage vendor is growing sales in All Flash Arrays,” said Jimmy Yu, Vice President at Dell’Oro Group. “All Flash Array is a very important technology segment in external storage. In fact, as a percentage of external storage revenue, it has been growing dramatically—from 22 percent in 3Q16 to 28 percent in 3Q17. So every vendor is determined to expand their position in all-flash storage systems. It’s becoming a very competitive arena,” added Yu. Dell EMC maintained their top share of the All Flash Array market. However, their outsized revenue share continues to be at risk as other manufacturers, such as Huawei and Hitachi Vantara, work to grow their presence in this market. In 3Q17, among the top equipment manufacturers, Huawei gained the most market share compared to the year ago period. Hewlett Packard Enterprise, following the acquisition of Nimble, experienced a market share loss of approximately 270 basis points year-over-year.
