Digium Introduces Analog Gateway for Complete End-to-End VoIP Solution

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Dec. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Digium, Inc., the Asterisk Company, today introduced the G080, a user-friendly, 8-port media gateway that provides analog connectivity for VoIP phone systems. By adding the new analog gateway to its product lineup, Digium now offers an end-to-end Unified Communications (UC) solution for organizations. The G080 disrupts the status quo of cumbersome VoIP gateway technology with its intuitive interface that minimizes the learning curve for administrators and simplifies the phone system deployment process. It is designed to integrate with Digium's award-winning Switchvox UC system, giving customers seamless buying, setup and user experiences from a single vendor for improved efficiency and guaranteed interoperability.

The G080 is particularly beneficial for organizations deploying their phone system in a virtual instance, and for those using Digium's recently introduced line of Switchvox E-Series appliances who need to connect Switchvox with analog telephones and telephone lines. The G080 gateway is able to automatically discover Switchvox, attach to SIP endpoints and set up call routing between itself and the Switchvox system, an unprecedented feature in today's market. Additionally, the G080 utilizes the same graphical user interface (GUI) as Switchvox, making user adoption easier, lessening the learning curve for administrators, and giving customers a seamless user experience across their entire phone system.

"With the G080 media gateway, organizations can now easily deploy on-site VoIP phone systems without the obstacle of analog connectivity," said Charlie Wilson, director of developer products at Digium. "The G080 saves customers time during installation and creates a more efficient deployment process by reducing the usual technological complexity of connecting analog to SIP. The integration between Switchvox and the new analog gateway raises the bar for ease-of-installation with its plug-and-play deployment capabilities. And, because te G080 is built on Asterisk, internetworking with other communications systems is simple and straightforward."

Digium's G080 is designed with the end user in mind and enables administrators to set up their gateway with only a few clicks. Unlike other analog gateways that are notoriously difficult to use, the G080 features an intuitive interface with wizards to walk users through the installation process and makes system management simple. Customers can now enjoy time savings and effortless usability when setting up and managing analog connectivity.

From the PBX to the analog and digital connection to the handsets, integrating all of these products enables customers to deploy a single vendor solution without having to conduct extensive research to ensure compatibility across platforms and vendors. Instead, they can take advantage of a fully integrated system that works to provide the best user experience for all customers, regardless of their technology needs, and prevents buyers from having to learn multiple products from multiple vendors.

The G080 is an 8-port analog gateway available in three separate configurations: 8 FXO trunk ports, 8 FXS telephone set ports, and 4 FXO trunk with 4 FXS telephone set ports. Built-in echo cancellation, fax relay, and low-bitrate codecs are fully supported in its solid-state, fanless 1U half-width chassis.

The new G080 analog gateway is available now for the suggested retail price of US$895 from Digium's worldwide network of authorized partners.
