Jibestream Announces New Indoor Mapping Features Including Map Localization

TORONTO, July 19, 2017 /CNW/ -- Jibestream, the premier indoor mapping platform provider, announced today the release of a new set of features focused on map localization and enhanced developer usability. The company's map rendering engine is used by developers to embed indoor maps into web and mobile application to create and manage scalable, location aware apps.

The new release offers best of breed support for multiple language outputs through localization, a SDK Navigation plugin that streamlines the implementation of real-time landmark-based navigation, map metadata management through batch imports and exports, and an extensive library of sample code and output to further expedite app development time.

Map Localization, which supports the addition of local translations for multiple languages by venue, enables users to cater to a global audience. This new feature supports custom language translations for map objects such as Destination names and descriptions, Amenities, Path Types, Floor names, and Map Labels. Translations can easily be added and managed by administrators using the Jibestream Content Management System (CMS).

The new Navigation plugin equips develpers with the tools to create a more intuitive navigation experience for end users by adding on-screen turn-by-turn text directions with supporting visual landmarks resulting in superior real-time location awareness. The Navigation plugin also includes algorithms to assist developers to calculate estimated travel times to destinations based on distance.

With support for batch imports and exports of map objects, including Destinations, Amenities, Path Types and Label records, administrators can now save valuable time by mass importing map metadata directly into the Jibestream CMS. Data is updated based on unique map object IDs thereby providing redundancy protection.

Another significant addition to the Jibestream SDK is a sample code library, offering developers access to Jibestream map code snippets, accelerating app development time resulting in a quicker time to market. Code outputs are available for Web, iOS and Android platforms.
