PhishMe CEO and Co-Founder, Rohyt Belani, Named a 2017 Washington Business Journal 40 Under 40 Honoree

PhishMe® (www.phishme.com), the leading provider of human-focused phishing defense solutions, today announced that co-founder and CEO Rohyt Belani has been named to the Washington Business Journal's 2017 "40 Under 40" list. The 40 Under 40 program honors Greater Washington's top business leaders and owners under 40 years of age who exhibit outstanding performance in their field. Honorees were chosen from more than 450 nominations by a panel of outside judges and the Washington Business Journal staff, and each honoree will be recognized at an awards ceremony being held on July 20, 2017 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

Rohyt Belani is an information security veteran with over 15 years of experience who has held senior technical and management roles at leading cybersecurity companies. Prior to founding PhishMe, Belani served as the CEO of Intrepidus Group (acquired by NCC Group PLC), Managing Director at Mandiant (acquired by FireEye, Inc.) and Principal Consultant at Foundstone (acquired by McAfee (News - Alert)).

After almost a decade of working as a security consultant, Belani identified te need for an effective solution to the phishing epidemic that plagues cybersecurity. He, along with Aaron Higbee, founded PhishMe in 2011, and they were the first to market with a human-defense phishing solution. When the two launched the company's disruptive solution set, it was met by market skepticism, but Belani persevered knowing the potential the company and its vision had within a burgeoning cybersecurity industry.

"Phishing still remains the primary threat vector for today's top cyber attacks, and isn't going away anytime soon," notes Belani. "We need to operationalize human intelligence to combat this growing threat instead of viewing technology alone as the silver bullet. Thank you to the Washington Business Journal and the judging panel for recognizing my passion for this and my contributions to the phishing defense industry."

Today, through Belani's guidance, PhishMe has more than 1,300 active enterprise customers that include over 50 percent of the Fortune 100. The company has grown from a whiteboard concept to an annual run rate of $50 million in 6 years and currently employs over 350 people in 7 countries. Belani plans to continue PhishMe's success by delivering on its vision of using the power of both humans and technology to improve cybersecurity for businesses large and small, domestically and internationally. PhishMe has expanded globally and will continue to break into new markets in the near future.
