InterDigital Joins the 5G Automotive Association
WILMINGTON, Del., April 10, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC), a mobile technology research and development company, today announced that is has become a member of 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), a global association created to bridge automotive and communications industries. The association seeks to develop, test and promote connected mobility solutions, initiate their standardization and accelerate commercial availability and global market penetration.
5GAA was formed in September 2016 by global leaders in the automotive and telecommunications sectors, including Audi, BMW, Daimler, Ericsson, Huawei, Intel, Nokia and Qualcomm. The association aims to address society�s connected mobility and road safety needs with applications such as connected automated driving, ubiquitous access to services, and integration into smart cities and intelligent transportation. 5GAA will also lay the groundwork for implementing 5G technology in the automotive sector.
