Deaf Interpreter Services, Inc. Better Protects Customers, Employees and Partners with Enhanced Encryption Service

Deaf Interpreter Services, Inc., an organization specializing in sign language and oral interpretation, video remote interpreting, captioning/CART services and video production, has enhanced its email security strategy and capabilities by implementing email encryption via Zix. The boosted security allows for DIS to trigger encryption for emails that may include confidential and/or sensitive information. The additional enhancement has been applied to ensure that regulations set by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 continue to be met.

"We can more seamlessly comply with regulations that are required to remain HIPAA compliant in 2017 because of our integration with Zix," says Marilyn Weber, president and CEO of DIS. "We are pleased to be able to provide an additional layer of security of confidential data for our customers, employees and partners."

With ix, DIS employees have strengthened the unaltered, encrypted emails they can send. Employees simply encrypt emails through an "Encrypt & Send" plug-in. Recipients can conveniently access secure messages using their existing Zix solutions or through a mobile-friendly, secure web portal.

"Our employees simply implemented a plug-in right to their desktops for a seamless integration with the Zix encryption software. In addition to adding the extra security layer, here at DIS we pride ourselves on the fact that the entire team maintains current HIPAA training and certifications," says Weber.
