SafeDK Announces Android App X-Ray Integration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Mobile Center

HERZLIYA, Israel, January 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --

SafeDK, the world leader for mobile SDKs management solutions, is announcing today an integration of its Android App X-Ray with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Mobile Center.

Most mobile apps use 3rd party SDKs to add functionalities such as advertising, analytics, social, and more. These SDKs often lead to certain malfunctions of the apps such as performance deficiencies, crashing, excessive battery consumption or malicious behavior. Based on the latest survey by SafeDK, Android apps use 17.6 SDKs on average. SafeDK's App X-Ray solution allows app publishers to uncover the 3rd party SDKs within any Android app, including their own app. It is available for a free trial at the SafeDK website and as an API for integration with external services, which now includes HPE Mobile Center. Using the SafeDK option, HPE Mobile Center users are able to scan their app and get valuable data and full visibilty on which SDKs are integrated in their app, what are their rating in the SafeDK Marketplace, indication of deprecated libraries and so forth.

"Our X-Ray service has proven to be very effective for many in the mobile ecosystem, especially for app developers who wants to know what's going on in their app. It has become an integral part of the development cycle and deploy process," says Orly Shoavi, SafeDK's CEO. "Before any new version is released to the store, HPE Mobile Center customers can verify the state of their 3rd party SDKs, prior to deploying new versions, to determine if new libraries have been added or dropped."

"Ensuring high-quality mobile applications that operate on any device - especially apps with third party SDKs can be a complex process," said Raffi Margaliot (@raffima), Senior Vice President and General Manager, Application Delivery Management, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. "HPE Mobile Center empowers developers with powerful features that help ensure quality and security across a myriad of mobile platforms and devices. By leveraging HPE Mobile Center, in conjunction with SafeDK's solution, developers can confidently modernize their applications across multiple device type at scale and ensure they are continuously and effectively testing the 360 degree view of the mobile experience that the consumer will have."
