Vencore Labs To Provide The Sacramento Municipal Utility District With Managed Cybersecurity Services

CHANTILLY, Va., Sept. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Vencore, Inc. announced today that is innovative research arm, Vencore Labs, Inc., has been awarded a multi-year, follow-on contract to provide managed cybersecurity services to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) in support of its Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).

Under the contract, Vencore Labs will deliver an enhanced version of its ground-breaking SecureSmart™ cybersecurity solution, a patented infrastructure monitoring technology for smart grid field networks. The unique, multi-channel hardware solution will provide continuous validation of over-the-air security and privacy controls for the utility's smart meter system, ultimately protecting Sacramento rate payers.

Additionally, the SecureSmart™ solution will includea custom intrusion detection system to provide early warning of anomalous behavior and threats and a real-time dashboard to monitor the state and health of SMUD's largest network.
