Meggitt Training Systems Celebrates Small-Arms Program of Record Deliveries and Targets Foreign Sales at AUSA 2016

Meggitt Training Systems (booth #1717), the global leader in simulation and live-fire training systems, will emphasize initial deliveries of the Engagement Skills Trainer (EST) II and other solutions at the 2016 Association of the US Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition. As an official program of record for the Army, EST II represents the world's most innovative small-arms trainer thanks to 3D marksmanship, automatic coaching, a tablet interface, enhanced graphics and compatibility with existing Army simulated weapons. AUSA will run from Oct. 3-5, in Washington, D.C.

"First delivery of the world's most capable small-arms trainer is a major milestone for Meggitt Training Systems and our Army customer," said Jeff Murphy, president, Meggitt Training Systems. "We're enabling faster, more efficient combat readiness. As a result, we expect significant interest at AUSA in EST II from foreign military delegations with similar requirements."

Meggitt Training Systems was originally awarded the $99 million, five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract in 2014. Deliveries of almost 900 EST II systems have started and will continue during the next 18 months at locations worldwide. As a system of record, the program will train new and experienced soldiers in marksmanship, collective scenarios and judgmental video scenarios. Each mode provides critical training based on the skill level of the soldier or unit.

Meggitt solutions on display will include:

  • BlueFirereg; wireless weapon simulators - provide the highest level of virtual realism while maintaining the same form, fit and function of live weapon counterparts. BlueFire® weapons are excellent choices for collective and judgmental training, operating via wireless Bluetooth® technology without cords or tethered operations hindering actions. Weapons available for demonstration at AUSA include the BlueFire M4 and the BlueFire M9.
  • Multi-Function Stationary Infantry Target (News - Alert) - offers a fixed target head configuration that can respond to hits, automatic triggers activated by soldier movements or a pre-programmed scenario, ensuring that the trainees do not anticipate target actions, providing a realistic environment for MOUT and specialized training. The system is operated through radio frequency, hardwire or Ethernet controls that enable great flexibility in range design and usage.

Meggitt Training Systems representatives will be available for meetings at AUSA in booth #1717.
