With its First Outside Funds to Invest, Vendini forms Board of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Vendini, the company that makes the business of live events simple with industry-leading software and services, announced that it has formed a new Board of Directors, closely following its acceptance of its first-ever round of outside funding.

Mark Tacchi, Vendini CEO & Board Member

The new board will include Mark Tacchi, Vendini CEO and founder of the company in 2002. He will be joined by George McCulloch, Partner & Founder of Level Equity, the New York City venture capital firm that on May 31 infused $20 million into Tacchi's till-then bootstrapped business.

Previously an investor at Summit Partners and a managing director at Insight Venture Partners, McCulloch is also an independent director of Medidata Solutions. He is a graduate of Stanford University.

Two additional members round out the new board. John Taylor is the principal of Coordinate Group, a growth strategy consulting and advisory firm to startup and established technology companies that want to achieve market acceleration. Previously Taylor was the CEO of Ecast, a place-based digital music network. Taylor has also held senior operating positions at Macromedia, prior to its acquisition by Adobe, Quokka Sports, Dimension X (acquired by Microsoft) and Sun Microsystems. Taylor holds a B.S. from Cornell University in Applied Economics and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.

John Rogers is Founder & Chief Strategy Officer of the Gordian Institute, a strategist firm to policy makers and management teams. He is also CEO and co-founding partner of Capstone National Partners, a government relations firm, and serves on the board of paratransit services provider MV Transportation. Since 2006, he has specialized in applying entertainment industrytechnologies and ideas to the needs of national security. Based in Milwaukee, WI, Rogers serves on many non-profit boards of directors and has worked for the U.S. Department of Defense. He studied Political Science at the University of Iowa.

Tacchi is grateful for the bench depth assembled to help guide Vendini to its next stage of growth. "With our recent acquisitions, we're combining great engineering teams. Our board's exceptional mix of entertainment and technology experience will help us deploy our larger talent pools wisely, expanding our product range into promotion, donations, marketing and patron-specialized CRM -- everything a venue business needs to grow."

Vendini's recent acquisitions include LA-based CrowdTorch, a ticketing provider for club, EDM and comedy events, and Brooklyn-based CHARGED.fm, which offered ticketing for venues, as well as a website and app for primary and secondary ticketing markets for patrons.
