WWT and Klas Telecom Deliver Mobile CSfC Solution in Response to NCIA Innovation Challenge

World Wide Technology (News - Alert), Inc. (WWT), a market-leading systems integrator that provides innovative technology and supply chain solutions, today announced that it has partnered with Klas Telecom (News - Alert) to design and deliver a secure, modular, robust and ruggedized mobile solution leveraging Cisco and Klas technology in response to the NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) Innovation Challenge. The solution, which aligns directly with the National Security Agency (News - Alert) (NSA) Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program, provides the ability to securely communicate based on commercial standards that can be fielded in weeks, rather than months.

"WWT considers CSfC as a security evolution that enables our customers to securely transfer classified data in the field while leverage technology they already have deployed within their existing architecture," said Bob Olwig, Vice President of Business Strategy and Innovation with WWT.

"We were excited to work with WWT to bring this cutting-edge solution to the field and demonstrate its flexibility, security and cost-effectiveness for the NCIA Innovation Challenge," said David Huisenga, President and CEO with Klas Telecom Government, Inc.

The mobile CSfC solution designed by WWT and Klas uses Cisco (News - Alert) routers with IPsec/GRE tunnels for its outer VPN, and virtualized Cisco firewalls with IPsec tunnels for its inner VPN. Designed for ultimate flexibility and speed, the mobile solution kit also uses Klas Voyager, a modular and scalable networking system of systems designed to meet the requirements of military and government communications in any operational environment.

To ensure protection for classified data, a virtualized firewall utilizing Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Virtual (ASAv) is deployed on Klas VoyagerVMm, which saves space with network virtualization, while also delivering the option to provide services at the edge. The solution also uses Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF) technology along with quantum computer resistant and next-generation encryption algorithms to deliver the highest levels of secrity and data segregation to users.

The WWT Cisco and Klas Telecom CSfC solution was submitted for consideration in the NCIA Innovation Challenge, which is aimed at accelerating transformational, state-of-the-art technology solutions in support of NATO C4ISR and cyber capability requirements. The full proposal, which includes detailed solution schematics, benefits and architecture, can be requested by contacting Jon Kelly with WWT directly at [email protected].
