NCP engineering Optimizes New Android VPN Clients

NCP engineering today announced the availability of new versions of its Secure Clients for Android. The NCP Secure Clients for Android (News - Alert) enable enterprises to provide secure VPN access to employees connecting to corporate networks remotely using Android devices and the latest Android 6 "Marshmallow" operating system.

The updated versions of NCP's Android IPsec VPN clients now also feature support Challenge Response for 2-Factor Authentication. There are also new customization capabilities which affect IKE and IPSec policies and the configuration of primary and secondary DNS servers.

Enterprises can purchase the latest enterprise Android client from NCP's network of reseller partners and distributers. The Premium and Basic Android VPN Clients are available from the Google (News - Alert) Play Store.

Key Facts

  • NCP engineering offers four different Android clients to meet the needs of enterprises of all sizes: NCP Secure VPN Client for Android, NCP Secure VPN Premium Client for Android (additional features include support for OTPs and PKI certificates), NCP Secure Enterprise Android VPN Client for NCP SEM and NCP Secure Android Client Volume Edition for NCP Volume License Server.
  • NCP's centrally managed Secure Enterprise Client for Android can be used in conjunction with the NCP Secure Enterprise Management (SEM) system, which provides a single point of administration for network administrators to monitor their entire remote access infrastructure and roll out certificates, licenses and other updates automatically. SEM is compatible with most major operating systems, including Windows 10/8/7/Vista, OS X and Linux, in addition to Android.
  • NCP's Secure VPN Clients for Android are compatible with all common IPsec compatible VPN gateways (such as those from Cisco (News - Alert), Juniper, SonicWall, Sophos, AVM, Adtran, and Microsoft Server 2012 R2) and major communications and security standards including Internet Key Exchange (IKE) v1 and 2, PKCS#12 certificate support, XAUTH and split and full tunneling. It des not require rooting of the Android operating system and works with all essential business applications, including terminal-server and email clients. When used with NCP's VPN gateway, its recently patented Path Finder technology ensures that the VPN connection can be established in challenging firewall and proxy settings.

"The new Marshmallow-compliant Android clients offer additional features and functionality for enterprises to deploy secure VPN access to remote IT resources," said Patrick Oliver Graf, CEO of NCP engineering. "With these four new Android clients, we continue to provide the broadest array of VPN solutions across platforms and operating systems."
