IDC Innovators for the 2016 Cloud-enabled Mobile Security Products Announced

International Data Corporation (IDC) has published its 2016 IDC (News - Alert) Innovators report recognizing pioneering players in the cloud-enabled mobile security products market. IDC Innovators are companies with under $50 million in revenue that offer an inventive technology and/or groundbreaking new business model.

Skycure, Wandera, and Zimperium were all named as IDC Innovators in the cloud-enabled mobile security products market for 2016.

"A new category of mobile app security products is emerging to enhance security on iOS and Android (News - Alert) smartphones and tablets. These products provide real-time monitoring of threats across a range of factors in mobile environments, including inspection for known malicious code and apps, potential attacks on mobile devices themselves, and awareness of potentially dangerous network connections. Cloud-connectivity - either as a delivery mechanism for detection capabilities, or as a back-end analytics and threat analysis engine - are critical components to these offerings," said Phil Hochmuth, program director, Enterprise Mobility.

Skycure focuses on threats to mobile devices at the OS and app layer, as well as protecting devices in public Wi-Fi hotspots - a commonly-connected network type. Wandera addresses the challenges of supporting a far-flung and diverse mobile workforce that increasingly requires constant access to key corporate applications and data. Ziperium provides a suite of mobile endpoint protection capabilities, but its flagship zIPS, an on-device mobile intrusion prevention system, separates it from the pack of mobile cloud security providers as it relies solely on behavior anomaly detection.

IDC Innovators: Cloud-enabled Mobile Security Products 2016 (Doc #US41144716) profiles select companies in the cloud-enabled mobile security products market with an innovative technology or a groundbreaking new business model or both. The IDC Innovators research document examines companies with revenue of less than $50 million with a product, service or business model with a specific use case.
