SpectorSoft Changes Name to Veriato to Reflect Growing Demand for Corporate Truth

SpectorSoft™, an innovator in user behavior analytics and a global leader in user activity monitoring, today announced it changed its name to Veriato. The new name reflects the growing demand organizations have to learn what is happening within their organization to prevent insider attacks and increase worker productivity. To meet these needs, the company plans to grow staff by as much as 30 percent, including the hiring of former IBM (News - Alert) executive Joseph Torano as its new senior VP of worldwide sales.

"Our company has evolved over the years to provide software organizations' need for accurate intelligence about the human activity occurring within their perimeter," said Jason Judge, CEO, Veriato. "Our new name symbolizes that intelligence, that truth, whether clients are conducting incident response or investigations, detecting insider threats before they manifest into full-fledged attacks, or simply seeking to improve the productivity and efficiency of their employees."

According to a report by leading analyst firm Gartner (News - Alert), the User & Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) market, in which Veriato fits, grew substantially in 2015, with enterprises successfully using UEBA to detect malicious and abusive behavior that otherwise went unnoticed by existing security monitoring systems, such as SIEM and DLP. Gartner predicts revenues for UEBA solutions to climb up to $200 million by the end of 2017, up from less than $50 million today.

Veriato's award-winning software-Veriato Recon and Veriato 360-helps mid-sized and large organizations prevent and detect these insider threats. The tools combine user behavior analytics and user activity monitoring to detect both anomalies in employee behavior and potential actions that can compromise data security. More than 36,000 ompanies, schools and government entities worldwide use Veriato to gain insight into the user activity on their network.

New Senior VP of Worldwide Sales Brings 25 Years of Leadership

Torano brings more than 25 years of domestic and international technology industry leadership and executive management experience to Veriato. His professional focus has been in sales, marketing, alliances, and operations domestically and worldwide. Before joining Veriato, he spent six years as vice president of sales and marketing at software automation company ACOM Solutions. Before that, he served as senior VP of sales and marketing of VillageEdocs's five business units, and chief operating officer/board director in two European Union-focused software technology companies-ADOS and FormScape. He began his technology career at IBM, progressing to various roles in sales and marketing leadership positions in the company's Mainframe, Networking and Personal Computer Headquarters divisions.

"Joe's vast experience within B2B organizations makes him an ideal fit to help position Veriato as the solution companies need to expose and prevent threats from within," Judge said. "The market is exploding, and to meet this growth, so are we."
