AirHop Communications Announces the Expansion of its eSONify™ Partner Program Accelerating Deployment of Real-time SON for HetNets

AirHop (News - Alert) Communications, Inc., a leading supplier of Self-Organizing Network (SON) solutions for heterogeneous networks (HetNets), announced the expansion of its eSONify™ Partner Program with a dramatic increase in the number of SON verification and certification tests, greater automation to accelerate certification and an expanded pipeline of eco-system partners ready to deliver AirHop's state-of-the-art real-time eSON into operator networks.

The goal of the eSONify Partner Program is to provide operators and partners with a systematic and efficient process to use, test and certify eSON features for application in a HetNet. eSON certification provides operators with an efficient approach to ensure multi-vendor interoperability. eSONify is used by AirHop's broad customer and industry partner base including wireless operators, LTE (News - Alert) equipment vendors, LTE enabling technology companies such as base station (eNB) chip and protocol software suppliers, research organizations and government agencies.

eSONify serves operators by providing access to eSON-ready solutions having consistent and verifiable functional and performance benefits. Operators are able to evaluate key features across solutions from multiple vendors in the eSON ecosystem.

"As operators focus on improved user experiences and managing capital and operational costs to support growing data demand on LTE networks, SON is becoming an essential technology," said Janet Chen, CTO, Arcadyan. "The partner program enables us to rapidly support AirHop's latest industry leading features in order to meet operators' requirements."

The number of SON verification and certification tests have grown dramatically to address features for both emerging real-time and traditional non real-time SON such as Automatic Neighbor Relations (ANR), Physical Cell Identity (PCI (News - Alert)) assignment, maintenance and conflict resolution, Multi-Cell Interference Management (MCIM), Multi-cell Coverage and Capacity Optimization (MCCO), Mobility Load Balancing (MLB (News - Alert)), Mobility Robustness Optimization (MRO), and Interference Cancellation (ICIC), enhanced Inter-cell Interference Cancellation (eICIC). eSONify capabilities have also been extended beyond LTE systems to include WiFi (News - Alert) SON features.

In addition, eSONify functional and performance tests have been automated to accelerate the certification process and reduce time to deployment.

"AirHop's eSON cloud server and eSONify suite of functional and performance tests enables seamless integration with Broadcom's BCM617XX family of Small Cell SoC's" said Michael Hogan, Sr. Director, Small Cell & Fixed Wireless Access, Broadcom. "The collaboration with eSON has helped Broadcom's customers quickly develop small cell solutions to meet operator demand for increased bandwidth and network performance."

"The level of innovation for new SON capabilities is remarkable" said Joe Thome, Sr. Director, Product Marketing, AirHop Communications. "eSONify enables our partners and operators to integrate, certify and deploy new eSON capabilities in a multi-vendor environment and on pace with innovation."

About AirHop's eSON™

AirHop's advanced intelligence SON solutions dynamically manage network resources and optimize system capacity in multi-cell and multi-tier network configurations. AirHop's eSON combines multi-tier coordinated real-time SON optimization of available radio resources with traditional SON automation to provide operators a complete HetNet solution. In addition, eSON offers a carrier-grade UIX, an intelligent broad aperture analytics platform and support for both centralized and fully distributed deployment architectures. eSON empowers operators to maximize the value of their deployed assets, and reduce network-operating costs through effective optimization of coverage, capacity, and quality of service (QoS) for users.
