IEEE International Connected Vehicles Conference Registration Underway, Discounts Available through 16 October


WASHINGTON, Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The IEEE International Conference on Connected Vehicles and Expo will present the latest innovations and breakthroughs on connected vehicles, while sharing insights, discussing economic, policy and social implications, and forecasting trends and opportunities.

The fourth-annual event, held in conjunction with the APEC Internet of Vehicles Symposium, is set for the Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen (China), 19-23 October. The theme is, "Advancing transportation with connectivity, automation, intelligence and electrification."

Connected vehicles use wireless modems and sensors to connect and communicate with things like road infrastructure and systems, the cloud and other vehicles. Current technologies include speed-control accident avoidance, automated parallel parking, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. Future capabilities include autonomous self-driving vehicles.
