Swirl's new beacon complements its industry-leading software platform that allows retailers and brands to create, manage and deliver in-store mobile marketing campaigns. The introduction of this new beacon follows the company's recent announcement that it has been granted a wide-reaching patent for its innovations in the field of beacon marketing.    

Swirl's newest beacon leverages the Texas Instruments (TI) SimpleLink™ CC2640 wireless microcontroller (MCU), which uses 40 percent less energy than chipsets used by most other beacon vendors. Powered by four AA batteries and an integrated real-time clock with standby mode that allows retailers to turn beacon broadcasts off during non-business hours, the new Swirl beacon offers a battery life that is two to three times that of most other beaconsin the market today.
