Unisys Earns Accolades from Frost & Sullivan for Lowering the Risks and Costs of Network Security with the Stealth Solution Suite

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the encrypted network security solutions market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Unisys with the 2015 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation. The Unisys Stealth™ suite offers best-in-class security for endpoints, remote users, data centers, and data in the cloud by employing identification, authentication, and encryption. Its unique design aids the creation of undetectable authenticated user groups that appear invisible to unauthorized personnel, allowing critical information to be delivered securely.

Unisys Stealth strengthens data security and ensures effective controls for endpoint access by compartmentalizing security. It achieves this by creating virtual secure communities that connect the required endpoints, establishing an exclusive communication link between authorized parties. This approach restricts those outside the secure community from entering the specified network and intercepting the data flow. Each of the endpoints can communicate within their own communities, but non-members will not be able to see other networks regardless of the device they use to access it.

Stealth helps clients reduce risk, complexity, and cost across a variety of use cases such as micro-segmentation, legacy system protection, regulatory compliance, access control, data center consolidation, cloud, and mobile. It can be seamlessly integrated with the existing networks and does not require expensive reengineering or application changes.

Stealth(mobile) further extends these capabilities to develop specific security policies for each mobile application, providing an effective remote-based secure communications link via universal serial bus (USB) devices. The user's encrypted identity is layered onto Stealth(mobile), so that only the authorized user is given access to information. It also has prevents data loss if the device is lost or stolen.

"Through its isolating, encrypting, and cloaking capabilities, Stealth can be applied to networks, mobile devices, and cloud environments," said Frost & Sullivan Senior Research Analyst Sonia Francisco. "While most end users rely on channel partners and cloud service providers to protect their systems, Unisys bolsters existing security in the cloud and allows end users to be in control of their security systems."

Stealth is deployed at the lower end of the protocol stack, on top of layer 2, and the traffic s generally routed without needing additional configurations. Its main value lies in separating the network through a virtual approach rather than the conventional method of physical separation.
