Altia Systems® PanaCast® Panoramic-4K Video Camera and Experience to Integrate With Intel® Unite™

Altia Systems - a Gartner (News - Alert)® Inc. 2015 Cool Vendor in Unified Communications - today announced it is working with Intel to integrate the PanaCast Experience and Panoramic-4K camera capabilities with the new Intel Unite™ solution.

Today's business world needs smarter meeting spaces / conference rooms that connect all workers from any location, seamlessly and wirelessly and don't get in the way of productive collaboration. Corporations spend up to 40 percent of their work time collaborating and it should be time well spent1.

The Intel (News - Alert) Unite solution is conquering these challenges by powering modern and connected meeting spaces with enhanced security2. It leverages an Intel® Core™ vPro™ processor-based mini PC in the conference room and the Intel Unite application running on clients.

Altia Systems is working with Intel to integrate the PanaCast 2 camera and PanaCast Experience service into the Intel Unite features roadmap. With its 180° wide, 54° tall field of view and Panoramic-4K resolution, PanaCast 2 delivers exceptionally clear video with a human visual perspective making it a natural capability addition to support the Intel Unite objective of enabling more effective and productive meetings. PanaCast 2 takes full advantage of Intel hardware performance to efficiently encode, decode and transport ultra-HD video among Intel Core vPro processor-based mini PCs running the Intel Unite software.

Intel Unite integrates with existing conferencing solutions, such as Skype (News - Alert)® for Business (formerly Microsoft Lync&trae;). Coupled with the PanaCast Experience built for Skype for Business, meeting participants will be able to virtually "look around" the room by navigating through the PanaCast video streams with familiar multi-touch gestures on their personal devices to create their own views from anywhere. In real time, they could scan across the room to see who is there or focus in on the whiteboard or speaker - just as they would do if they were physically present in the meeting.

"Intel Unite is modernizing today's conference rooms, transforming them into smart, connected spaces, so that employees can meet and collaborate more productively," said Aurangzeb Khan, President and CEO of Altia Systems. "The whole focus of the PanaCast 2 Panoramic-4K video camera and PanaCast Experience software is to transform how people see and connect electronically, for more productive collaboration, so this a natural integration which we anticipate will bring immediate value to our customers."
