Alpha DevCon Event to Focus on Mobilizing Business Processes with Low-Code Development

Alpha Software Corporation today announced Alpha DevCon 2015 will be held Sept. 16-18 at the Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA. The annual conference will host hundreds of business professionals and application developers interested in learning how to scale the teams they have to build and deploy the critical apps needed to mobilize their organizations. Technical presentations and tutorials will focus on low-code approaches to rapid development, how to easily integrate mobile business applications with corporate databases and web services, and strategies for deploying apps that can easily and affordably scale as needed. Mobile experts, usability experts, business professionals, application developers, Alpha partners and Alpha executives are slated to present.

Keynotes announced this week include:

  • Forrester Research (News - Alert) Principal Analyst Michael Facemire, a leading expert on mobile software development, development processes and next-generation software architectures, will kick off the conference with an opening keynote on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Facemire has more than 13 years of experience in the software development industry. He joined Forrester from IBM (News - Alert), where he delivered industry-leading applications in mobile, social software, content management, portal, and workflow. He has authored or co-authored 23 patents in the areas of mobile software, collaborative systems, content management, and media services.
  • Elizabeth Rosenzweig, Principal Usability Consultant at the Bentley University User Experience Center, will presentThursday morning's keynote. Rosenzweig has worked as a consultant and as an employee in several major corporations for more than 25 years. Her experience includes design and development, ranging from website and applications to hardware products and technology development. She holds four patents in intelligent user interface design.

Alpha DevCon will also feature presentations from Alpha executives, including President Selwyn Rabins and CTO Dan Bricklin, on topics ranging from best practices for web-based business apps, performance optimization strategies, and usability, as well as data access and integration. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear real-world mobile business application success stories from Alpha's partners and customers. Interactive customer panels will dive into some of the challenges that business leaders and developers have faced as they build and deploy process-oriented apps for increasing numbers of mobile workers on a host of devices and how they've overcome those challenges. Partner presentations will include sessions with Apperian and ZebraHost. Alpha Software and Twin (News - Alert) Peaks Research, an Alpha Software training partner, have scheduled pre-conference training sessions and tutorials on Alpha Anywhere, the company's rapid mobile application development platform, on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

"Alpha DevCon brings together true leaders in the mobile app development industry - from analysts, to enterprise users to independent developers - who gather to share their unique perspectives and experiences," said Richard Rabins, Alpha Software Corporation CEO. "With keynotes from renowned thought leaders, and an exciting line up of speakers, this year's event will once again provide a unique opportunity for our worldwide developer community to network and share ideas."
