Navman Wireless Releases a Suite of Smart In-Vehicle Apps to Improve Driver Efficiency and Safety

GLENVIEW, Ill., April 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Navman Wireless is pleased to announce the release of Drive, a comprehensive suite of applications built to enhance driver efficiency, productivity and safety. The powerful app suite combines fleet management, communication, navigation, dispatching, and documentation systems into one user-friendly driver interface, streamlining processes for drivers, dispatchers and the fleet. Its focus on driver and operational efficiency paves the way for automated tasks, safer roads and smoother communication.

Navman Wireless Drive Lets You Power Your Fleet With Smart In-Vehicle Applications.

"Fleets expose themselves to risk and inefficiencies with distracted driving, manual paperwork, and untimely exchanges of job site information," said Sid Nair, Director of Group Marketing and Product Management at Navman Wireless. "Businesses need a single platform to get real-time updates on daily jobs and driver activity. Drive empowers fleet vehicles to stay connected, focused, on time and safe."

Each aspect of the suite and its applications was designed to boost efficiency for drivers on the road, as well as managers in the back office, making this a multi-functional tool that can serve as part of a businesses' fleet management solution. Navman Wireless Drive app suite features include:

Clear Navigation and Routing
Drive offers the latest in navigation and routing tools, allowing drivers to seamlessly map job locations or other key landmarks from an interactive map screen. Managers can send routing information and updates directly to a driver's cab using their Navman Wireless OnlineAVL2 GPS fleet managemen software platform.

Voice-Activated and Voice-Guided Navigation
Drive's navigation feature includes built-in voice-activated and voice-guided assistance. Drivers can customize a keyword prompt and enter a destination using simple spoken commands. The navigation quickly maps the journey, using voice guidance to lead the way.

Easy Two-Way Communication
Easy-to-use driver and dispatch two-way messaging keeps drivers connected and their managers updated, reducing dependency on email, texts and lengthy phone calls. All driver communication is managed via one user-friendly interface, directly from the inside of the vehicle.

Paperless, Customizable Forms
Using OnlineAVL2, fleet managers can create and customize digital forms and send them as messages to a driver's cab. Drivers can collect customer signatures; order details; see invoicing and more, eliminating paperwork and time-consuming workflows.

Instant Signature Capture
The Signature Capture tool is readily available with the Forms messaging option and uses capacitive touch, enabling fast and easy signature capture and delivery confirmations right from the field.

Engine Monitoring System (EMS)
Through OBD-II or J-Bus connection, Drive's EMS feature allows drivers to see engine parameters on their in-vehicle displays, such as speed, RPM, temperature, fuel, and oil pressure, enabling a driver with insight into their engine.

Trucking Attributes
Trucking Attributes helps commercial drivers find the safest routes, avoiding narrow roads, low underpasses and weight- and load-type restricted bridges, while discovering trucking points of interest.

The Navman Wireless Drive app suite is hosted on a 6-inch, Garmin-supported MNav-950 in-vehicle display that fully integrates with the Navman Wireless OnlineAVL2 platform. The device's capacitive touch screen backs Drive's navigation and capture feature, showcasing the device's durability, ease-of-use, robust structure and simple mechanics.

"Garmin was a natural fit for our specific needs," said Nair. "As a global leader in telematics, it was important for us to integrate with the best GPS navigation hardware provider available on the market. Navman Wireless needed a partner that would provide not only a strong platform for our product, today, but would also be able to accommodate the growth we have planned for tomorrow."

With Navman Wireless Drive, fleets have a centralized interface to improve communication, increase productivity and safety, and eliminate inefficiencies. Navman Wireless remains dedicated to products that help businesses get the job done, advancing operations in the vehicle, in the office and through the fleet.
