Analyst Udate: Upcoming Event, Appointment, Financial Results, Product Launches

U.S. stocks mostly closed lower on Tuesday amid a mixed bag of earnings reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.47% to 17949.59, and the S&P 500 ended the session 0.15% lower at 2097.31. On a positive note, the NASDAQ gained 0.39% to close at 5014.10, mainly supported by big gains in biotechnology stocks amid strong M&A activities. European stocks continued their strong run on Tuesday. Major European markets closed the session higher, as Germany's DAX jumped 0.4%; Britain's FTSE 100 rose 0.15%, and France's CAC gained 0.10%. Meanwhile, Asian markets surged on Tuesday, recovering from their disappointing session on the previous day. The Shanghai Composite, Japan's Nikkei and Hong Kong's Hang Seng all posted positive gains.


Time Warner Cable Inc (Time Warner) will report its first-quarter 2015 earnings results on Thursday, April 30, 2015, before the market opens. The Company is also schedule to pay a quarterly cash dividend of $0.75 per share on its Common Stock, on April 22, 2015, to stockholders of record as on April 1, 2015.

Nokia Corporation (Nokia) announced the appointment of Jorg Erlemeier as the Integration Planning Head for the integration of Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent, following the proposed combination of the two companies.

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (Advanced Micro) reported first quarter 2015 revenue of $1.03 billion, operating loss of $137 million and net loss of $180 million, or $0.23 per share. This is in comparison to revenue of $1.40 billion, operating income of $49 million and net loss of $20 million, or $0.03 per share, reported in the first quarter of 2014.

 Microsoft Corporation announced the launch of two new smartphones - Microsoft Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM and Microsoft Lumia 640 Dual SIM in India, both offering seamless integration of Lumia essentials with a choice of screen sizes and camera capabilities and Microsoft services, to offer incredible productivity.

Cisco Systems, Inc. (Cisco) announced the launch of new models of Cisco® ASA with FirePOWER Services - the industry's first threat-focused next-generation firewall (NGFW) that offers midsize companies, branch offices and industrial environments with the similar advanced malware protection and threat detection capabilities deployed by large enterprise organizations.
