Akanda Names Sean Roberts Vice President of DevelopmentAkanda, the only open source network virtualization solution built for OpenStack environments, today announced the appointment of Sean Roberts, member of the OpenStack board of directors, as vice president of development. In his new role, Roberts will lead Akanda's research and development team, enhancing its innovative open source platform, and continuing to engage and contribute to the OpenStack community. Roberts brings more than 20 years of industry experience to Akanda, and joins the company from VMware where he was a senior R&D manager within the Network Security Business Unit. Prior to VMware, Roberts held strategic technical positions at Yahoo!, Stanford University, Genentech and Electronic Arts. Roberts has been deeply involved with OpenStack for over three years, and has served on its board of directors for the past two years.
