EXPERT ALERTS:

Large Corporations Aren't the Only Ones Vulnerable to Hacking
Matti Kon
CEO and Founder
InfoTech Solutions
"Many business owners are typically on the go, working out of hotels, lobbies, coffee shops, etc., and hence are relying on other networks, so, of course, there are vulnerabilities. A non-protected environment has the risk of being hacked and your work data could fall into your competitors' hands; your bank account and your credit cards could be compromised; your identity could be stolen. Hackers would look at this as low-hanging fruit, because it is usually easy for them to hack into these accounts. While it is more widely reported when larger corporations (most recently, Sony, Target and Home Depot) become hacked, the everyday professional or small-business owner is also an easy and significant target to hackers."
Kon started his technology career in Israel. After moving to the U.S., he earned his degree in economics and management information systems.

Google AdWords' Mobile Call-Only Campaign
Jason Parks
Owner
The Media Captain
"Google AdWords debuted its mobile call-only campaign type to drive calls. This can have a huge impact on businesses trying to increase their conversion rate when they invest in online advertising through Google PPC. Around 70% of mobile searchers call a business directly from search results. Google took note of the extremely high conversion rate and implemented mobile call-only campaigns. This is also another huge step as Google attempts to compete for mobile advertising dominance. This will certainly prompt competitors like Facebook and Twitter to eventually test out mobile call-only campaigns. I personally think it could make the biggest impact with Twitter, since 80% of its users access the site from mobile, and phone calls could lead to more conversions. Our agency has already implemented the mobile call-only campaign for several clients that have generated high conversion-rate percentages in he past from the mobile click-to-call feature. Since businesses will have a higher tendency to close a prospect over the phone, I think this was a great move by Google."

Parks is owner of The Media Captain, a digital marketing agency in Columbus, Ohio. He has been featured in The New York Times, Yahoo News, Search Engine Watch and more.

Sleep Awareness Week: Benefits of Corporate Fatigue Management Programs
Dave Sharar
Managing Director
Chestnut Global Partners
"Apps for detecting sleep patterns and fatigue don't address all the elements that compromise quality sleep: individual behaviors, workloads and work schedules, even one's sleep environment. A well-designed fatigue/sleep management program can dramatically reduce the amount of employees showing up to work tired, distracted, irritable and careless, promoting a safer and more harmonious -- not to mention productive -- workplace."
Studies show that most people get used to feeling fatigued, believing their lethargy, lack of focus, even "micro sleeps" are normal -- though an estimated 35-40% of Americans have undiagnosed sleeping problems that are at the root of their fatigue. Monday is the start of the National Sleep Foundation's Sleep Awareness Week. Chestnut Global Partners will do its part to raise awareness of the benefits of corporate fatigue management programs, from in-depth sleep assessments to individualized strategies for getting the "quality sleep" needed to feel fresh and alert through the day. Dr. Sharar has published over 70 articles in numerous peer reviewed, trade and business publications on topics ranging from behavioral health to corporate wellness.

Four Misconceptions About Backdoor Roth IRAs
Bijan Golkar, CFP
CEO/Senior Advisor
FPC Investment Advisory, Inc.
In 2015, the income limit for Roth contributions is $131,000 for single filers and $193,000 for married couples filing jointly. For high-income earners who earn too much to contribute to a Roth IRA directly, the only method of getting new assets into a Roth IRA is to go in through the backdoor, opening traditional nondeductible IRAs, then converting those accounts to Roth IRAs. It's a way for higher-income folks to pay tax now in exchange for tax-free withdrawals of at least some of their assets during retirement. But the maneuver carries some important caveats, so it pays to stay attuned. Says Golkar: "All Roth IRAs give you easy access to your cash. Flexibility is one of the key benefits to having a Roth IRA. If you make direct contributions (that is, your entry point into a Roth isn't through converting), you can withdraw your contributions (but not your earnings) at any time without owing tax or a penalty."
Based in San Francisco, Golkar has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, Yahoo Finance, The Fiscal Times, Bankrate, MoneyUnder30.com, MainStreet.com, InvestmentNews.com, Physician's Money Digest, and DepositAccounts.com.
