Kaspersky Lab Releases Update for Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Expanding Manageability Features

Kaspersky Lab today announced the release of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Service Pack 1 (SP1), its flagship product for business. In addition to offering superior security, the new edition of the flexible platform is easier to deploy and manage, and now provides more advanced capabilities for managing all devices connected to the corporate network with minimal impact on their performance.

In today's dynamic environment, IT administrators encounter a growing number and diversity of external cyber threats. These external threats are coupled with internal menaces that are no less dangerous, namely the increasing number of personal devices at work and a growing amount of shared information. Together, these two factors bring serious complications to the control of hardware and software within the network, making it more vulnerable. According to a 2014 study conducted by Kaspersky Lab (News - Alert) and B2B International, more than 38% of respondents admitted that protecting against the leakage of confidential data was a priority. Viruses, worms and Trojans were ranked among the top three cyberthreats (61%), while about 12% of respondents admitted they had faced targeted attacks, a 3% increase compared to the previous year.

Reliable protection to combat known, unknown and advanced threats

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business combines the ease of centralized deployment, management and control over all devices connected to the corporate network with reliable protection against known, unknown and advanced cyberthreats. With improved features such as Mobile Device Management, System Management and Endpoint Encryption, IT administrators can easily see, control and protect the corporate network to detect vulnerabilities, make inventories, and install and enforce security policies to avoid data loss and theft.

What's new in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows

Two-factor authentication using smart cards and tokens provides additional protection against unauthorized access together with Kaspersky Lab's advanced encryption solution.

The 30% reduction in size of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows SP1's distribution package and integration of the endpoint encryption module has made it possible to significantly reduce network traffic during deployment and speed up the processes of installation and management.

Kaspersky Security fr Mobile

Kaspersky Mobile Device Management now makes it possible to adjust and apply a wide range of security policies for devices running on the popular Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange Active Sync, Samsung Knox 2.0 and Apple MDM mobile platforms all through a single user interface.

To quickly ensure that personal devices brought into a corporate environment are secure, some of the management services, including downloading and activating the security application, and remote wipe, are delegated to employees themselves. This makes it easier to control and protect all devices within the corporate network with less impact on IT. The personal login and password used to access the Self Service Portal allows users to register their device on the corporate network with just a few clicks. The necessary keys and certificates are distributed automatically via the portal. If the device is lost or stolen, the user can easily locate it, block and/or remove valuable data.

Kaspersky Security Center Web Console now supports mobile device management, allowing IT specialists to remotely manage employees' personal devices when they are connected to the corporate network.

As a result of expanding cooperation with Samsung, Kaspersky Security for Mobile SP1 now includes advanced management options for Samsung mobile devices via integration with Samsung SDK and support for Samsung KNOX 2.0, including firewall settings, Exchange mail server settings, APN / VPN configuration and many others.

Kaspersky Systems Management (News - Alert)

By integrating with the HP ArcSight and IBM QRadar SIEM systems, Kaspersky Systems Management SP1 now provides an additional option: automatic connection to pre-installed client-side SIEM systems for transmitting logs and other data related to information security.

If it is necessary to install an update on a remote network, the IT administrator can choose one computer on the network to serve as an Update Agent using the advanced Patch Management functionality. To reduce traffic, all updates can be sent to this computer and then spread throughout the network from there. Updates can be delivered both manually or automatically at any time of day, and the IT administrator can monitor their installation status.

Kaspersky Security Center

Kaspersky Security Center Role-based Access Control makes it possible to distribute the rights to manage solution functionality (Anti-Malware, Endpoint controls, Encryption, Vulnerability Assessment / Patch Management) among several IT professionals to provide more effective network administration.

Compliance with the specific requirements of businesses

The Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business platform includes functionality broad enough to meet the needs of businesses of any size without incurring additional budget and human resource costs. Thanks to Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business, the IT administrator can see, control and protect the corporate network with the help of a single platform, via a single console and without exceeding budget limits regardless of the type and location of devices.

There are several basic Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business configurations that can be easily configured to comply with the specific requirements of each business, including:

  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business: CORE is the basic platform of this popular solution and is designed for users who only need anti-malware protection and a firewall.
  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business: SELECT provides protection to PCs and laptops and ensures file servers and mobile devices are secure.
  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business: ADVANCED provides additional data encryption and System Management tools to ensure security and enhance network productivity.
  • Kaspersky Total Security for Business is the company's flagship offering in the Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business product family. In addition to all the above-mentioned functions, it includes protection technologies for mail servers, collaboration servers and Web gateways.
