Cirpack's IMS Full-SIP Strategy

Cirpack announces the "Cirpack Full-SIP" program built on a strategic choice around the IP Multimedia Subsystem (News - Alert) (IMS). This program will result in a range of solutions designed to offer new multimedia services. The first step is a Transit SBC combining the features of a Class 4 Softswitch and a Border SBC, on a scalable IMS-based platform. This new program confirms Cirpack's long-term commitment to IMS as a solution to bring all the flexibility Service Providers need to easily implement new services.

The "Cirpack Full-IP" program

Designed to carry IP Multimedia traffic, Cirpack's Transit SBC is the first step of the "Cirpack Full-SIP" program, which completes a Unified Communications Application Server (UCAS), which will be continued by an integrated IMS core network solution.

This first step is a scalable platform compatible, ready to receive future steps of IMS features, such as RCS (Rich Communications Suite) and VoLTE.

"After playing a key role in the migration of interconnections to IP, Cirpack focusses on Next Generation solutions to follow the evolutions of fixed and mobile networks. This starts with full SIP architecture, preparing the way to IMS", says Patrick Bergougnou, Chairman and CEO of Cirpack. "We also paid attention to the end ser's habits and demand for multimedia and multi-terminal (smart phones, PCs, tablets) access. The ultimate dream of Service Providers will materialize around true convergence where users access all multimedia services, including telephony, through a single account.

Moreover, legacy networks don't support HD-quality sound, which is now a strong demand. Moving to IP networks and IMS platforms, such as Cirpack's solution, will allow operators to offer new Multimedia services with a proper quality of service."

Network optimization and continuity

Cirpack "Full SIPprogram meets Service Providers' need for network optimization by streamlining OPEX (News - Alert) and CAPEX through centralized administration, enhanced modularity and scalability. Operating the solutions centrally, for administration and provisioning, will lead to a leaner configuration process and daily implementation.

The NFV standard perfectly complements SDN architecture

The "Cirpack Full SIP" program are based on the Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) standards, where hardware and software components are split using Hypervisors (VMWare, KVM, etc.). New features or services can be added with no consideration on the underlying hardware.

By delivering NFV compatible solutions, Cirpack products can be implemented in a SDN (Software-Defined Networking) architecture.

Kim I, Cirpack Product Marketing Manager explains "Our roadmap to IMS is driven by our commitment to address our customers' demand for standardized and converged architecture and services.

Already adopted by mobile operators to roll out VoLTE services and incumbents' fixed network, IMS is also relevant for alternative VoIP networks, which is reinforced by the global evolution to full SIP and the arrival of WebRTC."

Cirpack will attend the MWC, Hall 5 Stand 5D05.
