Former Harley Davidson CEO, Rich Teerlink to Retire from Vertex Board of Directors

Vertex (News - Alert) Inc., the leading provider of corporate enterprise tax solutions and services, announced today that after 13 years of distinguished service on the Vertex Board of Directors, Rich Teerlink will retire effective February 4, 2015.

Teerlink joined the Vertex Board in 2002, shortly after his retirement as Chairman and CEO of Harley Davidson, where he enjoyed great success over his 18-year tenure. While serving on the Vertex Board, he also served on the Boards of Johnson Controls, Snap-on Tools and Quad Graphics. Teerlink is also the author of More Than a Motorcycle, the leadership journey at Harley Davidson, and has been a frequent speaker to corporate audiences, including having addressed Vertex customers as a keynote speaker at Vertex Exchange.

Teerlink has worked in direct advisory engagements with Vertex's Human Resources and Organizational Development Work Center leaders. He will continue to serve as an Advisor to the Board and Jeff Westphal.

Co-owners of Vertex, Jeff Westphal, Stefanie Lucas and Amanda Radcliffe, the Vertex Board, and the entire company extend heartfelt appreciation to Rich Teerlink for his many years of service. Jeff Westphal, CEO at Vertex Inc. said, "It is with gratitude that I thank Rich for his dedication, support and service to Vertex over the past 13 years."

Filling Teerlink's seat on the Board of Director effective February 4th, will be Kevin Robert of Lacombe, Louisiana. Robert joins the Board after a 32-year career with Wolters Kluwer/Commerce Clearing House (CCH (News - Alert)), where he was most recently CEO of the global tax and accounting division. Robert served in a Board Advisory role this past year, learning the Vertex business. He brings a wealth of experience in the tax technology arena, having led CCH and then Wolters Kluwer/CCH through three generations of technology transformation and substantial global expansion.

"Kevin brings specific tax software industry experience to our Board that perfectly complements Terry Kyle's software industry financial experience and Ric Andersen's technology, ERP and services experience. We are extremely fortunate to have an opportunity to bring Kevin onto the Vertex Board," said Westphal.

The Board and entire Vertex community welcome Kevin Robert to the team.
