OpenDNS Appoints Brian Roddy as Executive Vice President of Engineering and Operations


OpenDNS, a leading provider of cloud-delivered security, today announced that it has appointed Brian Roddy as Executive Vice President of Engineering and Operations. Previously leading the engineering and operations organization at Jive Software, Roddy is an expert in building scalable cloud infrastructure and network security products. In his new role, Roddy will oversee the continued expansion of the OpenDNS Global Network and lead the engineering teams in charge of building the company's innovative cloud-delivered security solutions.

In his role at Jive Software (News - Alert), Roddy oversaw the planning and deployment of the company's product lines, supervised their transition to cloud offerings, integrated four acquisitions and grew the company's worldwide engineering organization by an order of magnitude in less than five years. As a key executive, Roddy was a Section 16 officer for Jive Software and helped prepare them for their eventual IPO. Prior to Jive, Roddy founded Reactivity, a leading secure XML gateway provider for Global 500 organizations that was acquired by Cisco (News - Alert) in 2007. At Cisco, he oversaw a team of more than 200 engineers building mission-critical, high performance networking and security products used by tens of thousands of enterprise customers. Roddy holds multiple technology patents and has written numerous byline articles on security and risk topics.
